This eight-hour performance draws inspiration from the transgressive pupal stage insects undergo during metamorphosis, emphasizing endurance and the passage of time. Through repetitive gestures of sewing and binding fabrics around my body—forming an exoskeleton—I progressively enclosed myself in a cocoon-like structure, pausing at intervals to feed on blueberries and birch sap. I lined the enclosure with kapok and eucalyptus for warmth and comfort, then sealed it with yarn and baby’s-breath. These gestures articulate my long-durational practice and its movement toward a trance-like meditation.
