Upon arriving at the residency, an encounter with a snail at our feet slowed our pace, sharpening our attention to the ground and the life it holds. As humid nights filled the house with creatures, our movements shifted toward observation and attunement. In the rural landscape of Bourgogne, we explored how body and environment might coexist and reshape one another. We created costumes from materials found in the surroundings and undertook a hike from the residency to the hilltop fields at sunset, crossing neighbors, cattle and roads. Along the way, our garments absorbed scent, texture, and color, and we returned laden, bearing the marks of the terrain.
