Banquet is a four-hour durational performance centered on plant based food and communal gathering. Conceived as a shared experience with a live audience, the work celebrates eating and drinking as acts of connection, honoring the resources of nature and the social bonds formed through feasting. Via ritualized gestures—ranging from choreographed movement to improvised chanting and dance—the performers allowed time, shared energy, and the gradual consumption of wine to shape the unfolding of the evening. Each performer assumed a specific role, characterized by costumes and props that articulated their individual practices while reinforcing the flow of the collective. Shifting between moments of calm, chaos, euphoria, and fatigue, we exposed the raw impulses that underlie human social life, on a curtainless stage.
